Melody Lab
Hooks from motifs: contour, form, freeze the motif, roll the answer — and arpeggios.
A HookThe part that sticks: a melody, a vocal, a sound.More in the handbook → sticks because it repeats — and changes just enough to stay exciting. The Melody Lab works like a songwriter: it invents a short MotifA short, recognisable sequence of notes — the core of every hook.More in the handbook → and builds phrases from it, for example as Call and responseOne phrase asks, the next one answers — same start, different ending.More in the handbook →.
