Lesson 6 · Breakdown and emotion

When the kick leaves, people listen: chords, melody, space.

In the the kick drops out. Suddenly you hear chords, melody, reverb — this is where the track tells its story. A good breakdown makes the next drop bigger because it takes energy and gives emotion.

Write the story textNote in the inspector what the listener should feel — e.g. “longing, wide open”.
Set contrastEnergy to 20–30 %, let tension rise slowly towards the build-up.
