Lesson 4 · The build-up

Risers, snare rolls, filters, silence: the tools of anticipation.

The is a promise: something is about to happen. It usually lasts 8 or 16 bars and uses several tools at once.

Choose the transitionIn the Track Manager set the transition between build-up and drop to “riser”.
Create the riser“Transition/FX” opens the Sound Factory with a riser at the length of the build-up.
Build the snare rollIn the Rhythm Lab give the snare ratchet ×2 and ×4 in the last 2 bars.
