FX Lab
From a knock on the door to the impact in the drop.
The FX Lab joins two worlds that usually need separate programs: an effect generator and a workshop for field recordings. One click on one of twelve categories builds a sound from up to six layers — oscillator, noise, FM, resonant body, string or your own recording — with macros for size, brightness, grit, space, punch and motion. Recordings from a recorder or phone are cut to ten seconds, and you isolate the sound in the spectrogram: remove noise, hum and wind, keep only the hits or only the ringing. Then the recording becomes a layer, a granular cloud or sound DNA, a synthetic twin. Everything runs locally, and only what you take with you is saved.
How it works
- 01
Create
Tap a category or describe it (“dark impact with reverb”), shape it with macros, roll and vary.
- 02
Isolate
Load a recording up to 20 MB or record with the microphone, pick ten seconds, remove noise and disturbances.
- 03
Take it with you
As a WAV into the library or by drag and drop into the DAW — the recipe travels inside the WAV.
Create and isolate
Tap a category — and on the right, pull the knocks or the bell out of a noisy recording.
A built-in test recording: noise, hum, two knocks, a bell. “Removed” honestly shows what was taken away.
Features
- Twelve categories from impact to creature, each with several flavours
- Up to six layers: oscillator, noise, FM, modal, string, recording, granular
- Describe instead of hunting for knobs — offline, no AI and no upload

- Sound DNA: build a synthetic twin from a recording and blend between them
- Round-robin variations with a minimum distance, morph between two sounds
- Workspace with fixed limits, archive or delete leftovers
